I’ve been a reporter for the New Orleans Advocate since 2015. I cover the courts and criminal justice.

Among many other subjects, I’ve written about the Police Department’s sky-high 911 response times, a dead jazzman’s stolen trumpet and the nearly eight years an alleged crack dealer spent in jail awaiting trial. More clips are online here.

On the side I’ve freelanced pieces for The Nation and The New Republic. I came to the Advocate from the Huffington Post, where I was a national reporter.

I’m a Hoosier by birth and a graduate of Brown University.
